What is the Difference Between a Townhome and a Condo? The words "townhome" and "condominium" have nothing to do with the physical features of the building. Instead, it describes how the homeowner holds ownership of the property. Townhome ownership includes the land that the unit sits on. Owners of townhome units receive a Plat of Survey that shows the lot dimensions and the placement of the home within those dimensions. Condominium ownership includes the interior walls of the unit and everything within. Condominium owners also own a common interest, or equal percentage, of the common elements. |
